Antique mahogany and brass tea caddy. Very beautiful German work dating from the end of the 19th century.

Art nouveau style work in the Asian taste. 12cm high.
Has its internal pewter stopper.

Erhard & Sohne, Schwäbisch Gmünd was founded in 1844 by Carl Gottlieb Erhard and his sons. They specialized in handmade decorative art objects (mainly Jugendstil and Art Nouveau). After World War II, they became suppliers to the automotive industry. In 2011, they became part of Magna Steyr.
