"Sculpture From The “barocco” Workshop In Valbonne In 1983."
Born from the meeting of a potter - Richard TARONE - and a painter - Jacques de CHATENEUIL - known as MASARD, the BAROCCO workshop reflects the magical complicity of two complementary talents: the wild expression of the earth, treated like Japanese Raku and a glazed and virtuoso decoration in the pure baroque style. Knowing how to combine these two techniques is not only innovative but the result requires authority and refinement to resist time and fashions. This unique piece from 1983, signed by the two creators, expresses the quest for "the other" where the man, in a winter but clear setting, watches a female silhouette walking, just draped, towards ancient architecture in gray and gold, all under an off-center female mask. The work is intact and its symbolism is conducive to many reveries. (superior male profile...?)
