An Indo-Persian shamshir saber - Northern India or Central Asia, 18th-19th century Handle made of two plates of bovine horn with gold damascened steel elements (koftgari). Curved single-edged shamshir-type blade, forged from superb damascened steel (wootz). Scabbard made of two wooden splints covered with green velvet and a silver rivet. The guard has a slight play. A chip at the bottom of one of the plates. Some scratches and oxidation spots on the blade. Scabbard split over 27cm on one side.
