Prussian officer's sabre of the 2nd Hanoverian Dragoon Regiment No. 16 - Wareloo in LÜNEBOURG (SF), model 1889, 19th century. White metal frame with 1 branch with hinged folding shell bearing the Prussian Imperial Eagle. Black lacquered wooden handle and flat pommel with visible rivet button. Straight blade with flat back bearing engraving on 2 thirds of the back. Single-edged blade with hollow sides on 2 thirds. Blade bearing beautiful engravings on both sides of military attributes, riders, horse head, trophies of arms, parade of the regiment, sabre drawn for the officer and in a cartouche, the inscription "2 HANN.DRAG.REGT.N°16.WATERLOO.LÜNEBOURG". Sandings on the heel of the blade: WK & C (Weyersberg & kierschbaum)This regiment participated in the Battle of Waterloo and obtained the distinction and decoration and has since worn the Waterloo mention.
