Basque cane called makhila (makila) - Ainciart in Larressore, circa 1880-90 Shaft in scarified medlar. The brass ferrule at the bottom is engraved "Ainciart in Larresorre" (the Ainciart Bergara workshop continues its activity today in Larressore). The brass ferrule at the top of the handle is engraved "Jénéral de brigade" (the makhila was a very popular gift in armies at the end of the 19th century and until after the 1st World War). Forged steel dart. Wear and small losses to the leather of the collar at the bottom of the handle. The strap has been reconnected after cutting. Length 89cm Weight 296gr
