Nimcha saber from the Maghreb - Probably Morocco, 18th-19th century Horn handle, silver ferrule and steel guard with remains of gold damascening. European blade with half-moon and Santiago cross markings (markings generally attributed to Spanish furnishers but having very often been copied, notably in Solingen or Passau). Scabbard with wooden core covered with red morocco and braiding. Total length 97cm Length without scabbard 96cm Blade length 80.5cm Weight 1250gr Weight without scabbard 976gr
