"Bronze "drum Player" 19th Century"
Bronze with a 19th century medal patina representing a drummer. The character is dressed in the 16th century fashion under Henry IV. His face is smiling; he wears a thin mustache, a goatee and a hat topped with a feather. On one side, he holds his drum, a stick striking the instrument and on the other he raises the second stick in the air preparing to use it. He holds a sword on his right side. The movement of his right foot seems to indicate that he is walking, perhaps he is parading? The sculpture rests on a grassy oval base which suggests that the scene takes place outdoors. The sculptor has not neglected any of the many details of his face and his costume which he has treated with great care. The original theme of this bronze added to its careful execution makes it particularly interesting. H: 30cm L: 20cm Base: 16 X 11.5cm Very good condition.
