"Transition 18th Century Sauteuse Chest Of Drawers"
Very elegant chest of drawers called "sauteuse" with 2 drawers without crosspiece from the Louis XV, Louis XVI transition period. Chest of drawers with double central projections in plum wood marquetry developed in 4 leaves highlighted with walnut and boxwood fillets. The double central projection is decorated with a very beautiful marquetry of different precious woods on the theme of a bouquet of flowers on a background of plum curling highlighted with fillets with Greek motifs in the corners. The front uprights are canted and extend in the lower part by Cambrai feet to finish on the ground by chiseled bronze sabots. Chest of drawers topped with its red Languedoc period marble with a groove on its perimeter exactly matching the contour of this chest of drawers with its double central projection on the front and that of the rear uprights. Single lock closing both drawers at once. Chest of drawers entirely mounted on resinous wood, typical 18th century, sober cladding of very high quality chiseled period bronzes, handles, a very beautiful keyhole, shoes and apron. Chest of drawers in perfect condition, revarnished with a French stamp, entirely period and of very high quality.
