Antique Swiss painting dated 1852. Oil on canvas, first canvas, artwork depicting a subject of sacred art, Madonna with child of excellent pictorial quality. Painting of great size and impact, characterized by warm tones and bright colors. Painting that has recently been cleaned, bringing back to their ancient splendor the color, the sweetness of the faces and the delicacy of the hands of Mary and the little Jesus. Painting signed and dated lower right M. Paul Deschwanden (see photo) attributable to the Swiss painter Melchior Paul von Deschwanden (1811-1881), lacking authentication. Artwork easily attributable to the famous painter given the pictorial quality, the beloved subject and the delicacy of the setting, unfortunately lacking additional documentation. Original frame, finely carved and gilded contemporary frame of beautiful decoration (see photo). Painting in beautiful patina for antique dealers and collectors of nineteenth-century paintings. Painting with some very small signs of time, overall in good state of conservation. Interior size H 123 x W 92 cm.
