"Louis XVI Period Armchair With Swivel Seat"
Very fine cabinet armchair with a swivel seat and a cabriolet back in finely molded, carved and cream-lacquered walnut wood. It features very beautiful neoclassical-style ornamentation, with leafy corbels, ribbon twists and channels. The cane-bottomed backrest receives armrests with molding connections, supported by recessed supports. The circular belt rests on four tapered legs with rudentée fluting. The bowl-shaped and square seat is covered in green leather.
Stamped: P. Bernard (under the belt). Pierre BERNARD (circa 1730-1788) Cited master on January 24, 1766. Paris.
