Joseph Milon was born in 1868 in Gordes (Vaucluse). He died in 1947 in Aix-en-Provence. He was a painter of genre scenes, nudes, portraits, animated landscapes, and murals, as well as a sculptor and illustrator.He pursued a dual career as a lawyer and painter. In 1910, he decided to devote himself solely to painting. He studied under the sculptor Henri Pontier and the painters Honoré Gibert, Joseph Villevieille, and then Alphonse Moutte at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris.He painted murals and, in 1930, illustrated Curet's novel, "Dead Woman, New Hat."The artist's works are exhibited in the Granet Museum and the Musée du Vieil Aix in Aix-en-Provence, Cannes, and Carpentras.
