Magnificent box in pewter marquetry on a red tortoiseshell background, from the Louis XIV period before 1700. Very beautiful and fine decoration of scrolls and arabesques, with all the original tortoiseshell (no redone parts). Polished finish, giving a beautiful depth to the tortoiseshell, without it being too shiny. Interior lined with red velvet in the 19th century (faded).
