"Large Photo Circa 1900: The Liner Laos "
Beautiful large photo print circa 1900, representing the liner Laos, launched in 1896 by the Messageries Maritimes. This luxurious ship, built in the shipyards of La Ciotat, was renamed Amazone in 1903 following the allocation of a new Bordeaux - La Plata line. It was demolished in 1932. The photograph is very fresh because it had to remain protected from light for a long time. Signed by a Marseille studio, Dalmouth , it bears the mention of the origin of the paper, as well as its price in 1900, four francs, which is not nothing....It is presented in a modern, but sober frame, in blackened oak. Dimensions of the photo alone: 39 cm x 29 cm
