"Animated Last Supper Diorama With Sand Mechanism Circa 1880"
Diorama depicting The Last Supper, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's famous fresco, dating from around 1880. This work incorporates an original animated mechanism: sand flowed behind the image to subtly activate the characters' arms and heads, thus accompanying the storyteller's narrative. The ingenious device gave a sense of life to the protagonists, creating a true mechanical animation that enriched the visual and narrative experience. Richly decorated period frame with fabric curtains.
