"Diane de Poitiers" surrounded at the ends by feathered figures set in an oak frame. Panel size: 119 cm x 28 cm Overall size: 138 cm x 48 cm Long oak panel carved in the round which originally decorated the center of the front of a chest, from the end of the 16th or very beginning of the 17th century Good state of conservation and beautiful patina despite several cracks in the wood (see photos). The central panel is also framed by an ornamental leafy frieze characteristic of this type of chest. "Diane de Poitiers" with the deer surrounded by an ovoid crown supported by two nymphs with at the end two feathered figures which takes us back to the discovery of the new world, a century earlier.
