"Marie Thérèse De Soubiran Reliquary & Certificate "
Enameled triptych reliquary of Blessed Marie-Thérèse de Soubiran – painted enamel & certificate – France, 1940 Magnificent portable triptych reliquary, containing an authenticated relic of Blessed Marie-Thérèse de Soubiran (1834–1889), founder of the Congregation of Mary Help of Christians, beatified in 1946. Description: The central panel is decorated with painted enamel on a deep blue background, depicting the blessed in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. The side panels, also enameled, depict two saints, in a finely crafted neo-Gothic style. The whole is contained in its original red leather case, in the shape of a chapel, lined with red padded velvet, with a brass clasp. The relic is visible under a glass, sealed with red silk threads and a wax seal, in accordance with ecclesiastical prescriptions. Accompanied by its official letter of authenticity, signed by Cardinal Emmanuel Suhard, then Archbishop of Paris. The document (in Latin) confirms that the bone particles of the Blessed were extracted from authentic sources and sealed in the visible theca. Handwritten note: “ex ossibus B. Mariae Theresiae de Soubiran, Virginis Fundatricis.” Dimensions: 21 cm x 14 cm x 5 cm deep excluding box Condition: Very good condition, complete with box and period certificate High quality religious piece, both an object of piety and a collector's item.
