Object description :

"Ecce Homo – Oil On Copper – Circa 1600 "
Beautiful Flemish school with flamboyant polychromy, from the very beginning of the 17th century.
Our copper, with its astonishing symmetry in its construction, is surrounded by a modern gilded wooden frame.
Caiaphas, high priest, and his supreme council, have just questioned Jesus in their palace. To the high priest's question: "In the name of the living God, I demand that you answer us under oath: are you the Christ, the Son of God?" Jesus replied: "You say so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." Angry, the high priest tears Jesus' clothes and proclaims: "He has insulted God... He is guilty and deserves death."

Here is Jesus now in the courtyard. "Here is the man" shamelessly exposed to the crowd.
A work seen by the Cabinet Turquin, expert.
Dimensions of 25 cm by 19 cm for the oil and 33 cm by 27 for the whole.
