Nimcha saber - Maghreb, probably Algeria, 18th-19th century Handle in bovine horn with different natural colors. Chiseled steel guard with two quillons and a guard branch. Curved blade, single-edged, European import, probably from the 18th century. The blade has on both sides the famous half-toothed wheel marks. Marks generally attributed to Italian or Central European (Styria) workshops. Wooden scabbard covered with leather and brass sheets worked in repoussé. According to the construction of the scabbard and the two suspension rings on the same side, this saber seems to be an Algerian manufacture. Accidents and losses to the leather and small accident to the brass at the tip of the scabbard. Guard and blade have a slight play.
