This pairof elegant benches was crafted in the second half of the 18th century inCentral Italy. The structure of the benches is made of carved wood, lacqueredand gilded. The under-seat band is moulded and curved, lacquered in shades ofblue-green. Surrounded by a gilded reserve, the band is decorated with gildedwood reliefs in a floral motif. Each bench is supported by eight inverted-conelegs, fluted, lacquered and gilded, with a circular capital and gilded tip.From the seat extend two armrests, characterised by arched, flowing elementsthat culminate in scrolls, adorned with gilded floral decorations. The pair ofbenches, stable and refined, is highly decorative and offers great presence.The benches can be placed side by side or interspersed with consoles andchests. They are suitable for use in entrances, corridors, salons, or studies,and can be paired with both antique and modern furnishings.
