"Yoruba Statuette"
Ibeji statuette, Yoruba. Nigeria late 19th early 20th century. Wood with brown patina, headdress pigmented blue. Yoruba statuettes are often used on altars to represent deified ancestors or divinities, playing an important role in the spiritual practice of the Yoruba ethnic group.
