"Katar Indian Dagger"
This unusual weapon is a cast-iron Indian dagger called a katar or katara. Dating from the late 19th century, the katar features a hilt with two horizontal bars and a broad, triangular blade, ideal for piercing armor or chainmail. An iconic weapon dating back to the 17th century, the katar was used both as a close-range melee weapon and as an ornamental blade. Finely decorated examples were carried by nobles and elites, a symbol of their status and good taste. Enhanced by a custom-made steel stand, the dagger endures as a minimalist sculpture.
