"Louis XVI Period Daybed With Fluted Columns."
This molded and carved beech daybed with its old paint is a work from the Louis XVI period consisting of two bedside tables of the same height decorated with fluted columns. This bed, which can also be used as a bench, is worked on all its sides, which allows it to be placed at any point. Completely dismountable, it is assembled with external lag screws, the bed is furnished with a box spring and a wool mattress. The whole is covered with a beautiful quality silk fabric in blue with a nailed finish, the bed is also equipped with a top with scalloped cutout and braid sewn with a palmette and rosette pattern as well as two bolsters with the same finish. This bed dates from the 18th century, it can be dated to the end of the Louis XVI period around 1790, the two side rails are later, the whole is in a beautiful state of preservation and presents an elegant neoclassical ornamentation.
