"Antique 19th Century Thai Rattanakosin Style Gilt Bronze Buddha"
This bronze 19th century Thai Buddha features the scenario of "Madhu Purnima", the "Full Honeymoon Festival," which celebrates the Buddha's retreat into the wild Parileyya forest, to appease two feuding factions of diciples. According to legend, a monkey and an elephant named "Parileyyaka" fed him on this occasion, the elephant bringing fruit and the monkey a honeycomb.
