Mahogany and Cuban flamed mahogany veneer commissioned piece of furniture. As a cabinet, it opens with 2 doors revealing 2 shelves, a large drawer at the bottom and a thinner drawer at the top. It rests on spindle legs with bronze sabots, the fluted uprights with gilt bronze asparagus. At the top a white marble cut with inverted cavetto. Beautiful chiseled and gilded bronze trim, trefoil lock. Parisian work from the end of the Louis XVI period, 1790s-1800s. Beautiful piece of furniture interesting for its originality, it is a special order from its first owner to the cabinetmaker, probably the counterpart of a secretary, a little larger. Good general condition, the varnish has been cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. It is in "good house condition" with small minor accidents.
