"Henriette Marty (1902-1996) Large Limoges Enamel Box Circa 1930/1940. Fauré, Jouhaud Bichet"
Sublime and rare large enamel box by Henriette Marty in Limoges around 1930/1940, signed in gold on the bottom H.Marty Limoges. Dimensions: height: 12cm diameter: 13cm circumference: 44.5cm Condition: very good, I just note tiny hairs in 2 places on the edge of the body, very accentuated for the photos but almost imperceptible in reality, so almost perfect condition for an enamel, no restoration. I no longer present Henriette Marty one of the most famous Limoges enamelers alongside Camille Fauré, Alexandre Marty (her father), Paul Bonnaud, Léon Jouhaud or Jules Sarlandie. Henriette Marty (France, 1902-1996), just like her father, the enameler and designer Alexandre Marty (1876-1943), worked from 1924 for Camille Fauré in Limoges, she also had her own studio and worked as an independent artist. She learned the trade from a young age, spending a lot of time in her father's studio. She had clearly inherited her father's talent. Alexandre Marty worked closely with Camille Fauré between 1920 and 1925. Henriette also trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Limoges, where she is considered an outstanding student. Her creations are modern and stylized. She works mainly in the Art Deco and Modernism styles. Her work and creations are appreciated by collectors and can be seen at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Museum for Decorative Art in Berlin, and the Musée de Limoges.
