An object of great rarity and exceptional refinement, this reliquary under glass is a 19th-century Catholic devotional work, probably made in Italy or France during the Second Empire.
Description:
In the center, an engraving of Saint Cajetan (San Gaetano) in adoration before the Child Jesus, surrounded by a luxurious decoration of paperoles, polychrome beads, gilded leaves and enameled flowers. The frame, in gilded wood decorated with acanthus leaves, frames this scene with a strong presence. The lower part contains a collection of authentic relics of several identified saints, including: S. Gaetani - S. Paul -S. Bartolomei - S. Vincentii ....
And other labels legible in detail on the photographs. Each relic is carefully encased in an ornamental medallion, enhanced with glass paste beads and fine gold. The vibrant colors (royal blue, pink, gold) give the whole a striking visual and spiritual power.
