Obverse description: Laureate head of Napoleon I to the right.----------------ON THE REVERSE Reverse caption: ANEPIGRATED. Reverse description: The arrival of the ashes of Napoleon I at the Invalides, the coffin of Napoleon I is carried by his faithful; in the center, France, holding a laurel branch and an olive branch, receives them; a cherub holds the number N on an altar; behind, the Invalides and in the distance the Belle-Poule; all under an eagle carrying Napoleon radié. Medal with the exergue “PUBLISHED BY POURRAT FRÈRES / IN PARIS” and signed MONTAGNY FECIT in the exergue on the reverse. This MONTAGNY is probably Jean-Pierre, whose brother, father and uncles were also engravers!
