Pair of large Renaissance style armchairs in richly carved walnut. Each armchair rests on two rear legs turned into a baluster, two front legs finished with large carved skates, the whole is connected by an H-shaped spacer worked into a baluster. A bar on the front face, connecting the two legs presents a magnificent work of fretwork and openwork carving. The armrests and armrest supports are finely worked with acanthus leaves and flowering stems. The back is high and flat. The seat is old, it is in house condition, it is slightly sagged and distended but it does not require immediate restoration. The covering fabric is in striped velvet, it is in good condition. This seat is decorated with a studded finish.
