Object description :

"Special Antique Sewing: Umbrella Needle Holder With Transfer Image From Scotland From The 19th Century "
Royan souvenir depicting Avenue de Fonaillon and Avenue de Pontaillac in a transfer image affixed to this sycamore needle holder turned into the shape of an umbrella. A charming little object made in Scotland in the town of Mauchline for the French souvenir market of the late 19th century. This object, called in the jargon "a transfer," even bears the inscription Imported from Scotland in the image, which sometimes happens on certain items and from other times not,  without anyone knowing why.
