New complete edition in three volumes and published after the original of 1742, of this apocryphal work composed by Abbé Margon, (after Quérard and Barbier). It is therefore a biography, rather than a memoir, in which the Author retraces the Life of Tourville & the great hours of the French navy under Colbert & Louis XIV ? at the turn of the 17th century. The whole being divided into years from the birth of the Count of Tourville, Vice-Admiral and Marshal of France, until his death. The work is pleasant to read, endowed with a fluid style.
