Louis XV Period Curved Sauteuse Chest of Drawers in Carved and Molded Walnut from Provence, circa 1740-1750
An elegant and decorative curved chest of drawers, known as a "sauteuse," opening with two drawers on the front, made of carved and molded walnut with lively foliage reserves and a central medallion. The strongly cut-out lower crosspiece is adorned with openwork heart, shells, and foliage, and the cabriole legs feature foliage and volutes. The top is made of solid walnut with a "Bec de Corbin" edge.
Beautiful Provençal work from the Louis XV period, circa 1740-1750.
