Object description :

"Fragment Of A Tapestry "verdure With Ducks", Brussels Workshop, Mid-16th Century"
- Fragment of a tapestry, weaving from a Brussels workshop around the middle of the 16th century. This tapestry depicts a landscape with abundant vegetation around a body of water, this weaving is similar to a Verdure. Among the ferns, reeds and other plants, two ducks sail peacefully on the water.

- This fragment is similar to the production of the Brussels workshops of the middle of the 16th century. This is evidenced by the theme, the careful design, the beautiful fineness of the weaving (7 threads/cm) which offers a supple textile, the materials used (wool and silk) and the colors whose freshness suggests the use of great dyes.

- State of conservation: wear and old restorations are to be noted (see photos). - Dimensions: Height: 41 cm, Width: 118 cm
