"Adam And Eve Offering Plate - XVIII - XIX Or Earlier?"
Offering dish 18th - 19th century or earlier. Period to be defined precisely. The decoration represents Adam and Eve at the foot of the tree picking the apple. The trunk of the tree carries the serpent. The branches, roots and leaves are finely embossed. The figures are covered by a leaf. The whole is of great finesse, which is allowed by the work of the brass. The edge of the dish is decorated with a branchy frieze embellished with vine leaves and grain fruits (grapes?) The whole is in very good condition. Note a small hole in the upper part to hang it as well as a welded ring on the back for the same reason. On the back, it has an old brown patina, it is mounted in the old way on a wrought iron stiffener. This could allow it to be dated. What makes it original is its unusual size, 64 cm in diameter.
