"Bronze Pheasant Pot, Late 17th - Early 18th Century"
Bronze pheasant pot, late 17th - early 18th century. Oval shape, lion's paw tripod. Bronze, tinned internally. Complete crowned/crenellated lid (note that 3 crenellations are repaired, re-welded long ago). Utensil intended to be placed directly in the hearth in contact with the embers. The lid could be covered again due to the crenellations (retains the embers) and the perfect seal of the utensil.
