"Legras Imperial Green Series Vase With Oak Leaf Decor"
Legras vase from the series called "Vert Impérial, also called Vert Nil, ovoid in shape with a dark green frosted background, acid-etched decoration of oak leaves and acorns enhanced with gold and silver. Like the majority of these pieces, it is not signed. Listed in the book by Francois-Théodore Legras. The book reproduces Mr. Houtart's report on this creation in the 1900 Universal Exhibition: "These are then decorations touching on modern art that we first find on multiple forms in a shade of old glass called "Nil green" whose mattness obtained by the acid makes each piece more discreet, so to speak, in its decorative motif."
