The background in very fine silk damask taffeta background, is inspired by a large French cabbage leaf decoration from the 17th century. The applied borders in red and gold twill woven silk, remind us of the influence that Napoleon I exerted on the decorative arts of the Restoration period. The braid of passementerie and the linings are period hand-assembled. No defects to note and to reuse for any historical decoration project.
