"Pitcher In Earthenware From Les Islettes, 18th Century"
Polychrome earthenware pitcher from Islettes? Lunéville? St Clément? From the east, that's for sure. Post-revolutionary period (1789-1800). Pitcher depicting a revolutionary soldier dressed as such, wearing a cockade on his hat. He holds a glass in one hand, a bottle in the other, and is sitting on a barrel whose base bears the words "long live the nation." The whole has been repaired: the hat has been repaired and repainted, as well as the handle. Note some slight enamel chips and a crack. See the photos which explain my point.
