"11-piece Silky Damask Linen Dinner Service - Hunting - Venerie - 19th Century"
Rare damask linen table service (2nd half of the 19th century), consisting of a large tablecloth accompanied by its eleven napkins numbered JC at their corner and more discreetly on the tablecloth. Historiated linen with a luxuriant decoration, whose tight weave reveals a marked damask highlighting under the effect of light the art of hunting and its attributes as it was practiced in the 19th century... trophies composed of horns, scabbards, game bags, ramages among other figures dedicated to this ancestral art, against a backdrop of scenes of hunting deer and game in the air at the edge of groves, forests and prestigious residences in the distance. Antique white table linen, washed and ironed. Condition: Note: a very small stitch made 30 cm from the edge of the width drop, as well as a very small repair located 61 cm from the edge of the length drop. These minor imperfections are visible on the detail photos.
