"18th Century Engraved Pewter Dish - Strasbourg"
Engraved pewter dish from Strasbourg, 18th century. The bottom of this dish is finely engraved with a fantastic eagle in flight clinging to a flowering branch. Several friezes complete this decoration. The wing is double-stamped with a stork in a crowned escutcheon. Hallmark of Wehrlen Léonard in Strasbourg: 1731 -1784. Presence of two owners' marks: CM and OKA, note two small holes filled with pewter (see photos of details)
