"Bronze Mortar, Late 18th - 19th Century"
Large bronze mortar with (zoomorphic?) handles. Period: Late 18th - 19th century. The body of the mortar is decorated with a frieze of volutes as well as several peripheral grooves of varying depth. The handles appear to be covered with scales, animal? Its pestle is present. Good condition, however a chip is to be noted on its edge (See detailed photo) Pestle length: 26.5 cm Height 17 cm Diameter at the opening 17 cm Weight of the whole 5.225 kg Weight of the pestle alone 0.990 kg
