"Female Nude Oil On Canvas By Francis Beaudelot "
A nude, certainly academic, but nevertheless of a certain modernity. This canvas was painted by Beaudelot at the end of the fifties, a period after studying at the Beaux-Arts, accompanied by Mayou Bourrel, a long-time friend of Francis. Mayou Bourrel, who died in 2024, had kept many drawings and paintings painted by her friend Francis. Mayou's heirs decided to organize a tribute exhibition to the two friends, an exhibition which took place at the town hall of Valenciennes on March 14, 15, 16, 2025. This exhibition was a great success and allowed the rediscovery of Francis Beaudelot's talents as a draftsman. The Mayou-Bourrel collection is currently available for consultation at the gallery. (approximately 160 drawings and oils + some frescoes and sculptures.)
