The decoration of birds and plants is powdered with gold on a background of blown blue enamel, there are represented mandarin ducks, symbol of marital happiness, as well as a phoenix (Fenghuang) and a peony plant which are both symbols of immortality. It is reasonable to think that this vase was offered as a wedding gift. Mark below the double circle in underglaze blue. Good condition, no accident or restoration. The gilding which is usually almost always worn on porcelain of this kind is here in perfect condition. Height: 24cm
