Large Walnut Chest with Architectural Front from the 18th Century.
Elegant walnut chest with a worked floral and architectural front dating from the first half of the 18th century.
It is large and offers a very nice storage space.
The front and sides are very nicely worked and carved with geometric arcatures and acanthus leaves.
It rests on claw feet, simulated lion paws reminiscent of Italian cassones.
It is made of solid walnut and even the original back is made of walnut from a single raw board at the back.
A movable block allows it to be left open.
The lock and key are old but have been changed over time.
