Louis XV Style Clock In Gilt Bronze With Double Patina: Clockmaker: Godeau 1870

Elegant cartel clock with its solid base in the Louis XV style, from the Napoleon III period. Stamped on its mechanism "E. Godeau", clockmaker referenced in the Tardy at the date of 1870: Tardy dictionary of French clockmakers. Set of very good quality manufacture, thick architecture in gilt bronze of animated form decorated with foliage, a long garland of flowers on the front. Each face has an openwork area with a geometric pattern framing the domed dial in white enamel and its gilded and finely chiseled hands, protected by a domed glass set in a bezel. Original mechanism without modification stamped on the plate of the mechanism "Patented mobile barrel".
