The cup rests on a pedestal decorated with a frieze of interlacing and ovals.
The body is separated into two registers by a double purfling. The lower register is engraved and chiseled with large bouquets of flowers in oval cartouches.
The upper register is decorated with rocaille shells, floral scrolls, and engraved with the letter V.
The cup is hallmarked:
. G and P fleuronné: stamp of other cities (excluding Paris and Versailles) of the generality of Paris between 1780 and 1789.
. Chat couché: hallmark of the jurande of the city of Meaux between 1784 and 1789. The date is difficult to read, but probably 1784.
