Georges-François Alix (1846-1906) was established at 46, rue de Charonne and moved in 1878 to 6 bis, rue Richard Lenoir. He specialized in "antique furniture, bronzes, and marquetry" and participated in many important international exhibitions of the time, including the Paris exhibitions of 1884, 1885, and 1889. There are several references to "Alix" in the archives of the renowned furniture maker François Linke. The references date from after Alix's death in 1906 and indicate that Linke purchased several of Alix's wooden models and marquetry pieces. A selection of Alix's wooden templates survives in Linke's archives.
