"18th Century Wrought Iron Waffle Mold"
Waffle mold in wrought iron 13th century or earlier. Origin: Lorraine, presence of a double-branched cross (origin = Vosges collector) Mold without date but very rustic which would try to prove its antiquity. The assembly goes in the same direction. Forged in the mass, assembled by a large rivet (articulation), plates connected to the handles by hot forging. Closure by flat ring on hook. Finely decorated on one side with flowers in a gridded pot, branches evoking the tree of life and scattered flowers. On the second side, the cross of Lorraine? a star, flowers with a cross on foot, scattered flowers and a peripheral frieze ... The photos are more explicit!
