"Haute Epoque Wrought Iron Door Peephole, 16th Century"
Rare large Haute Epoque door peephole in wrought iron with oval view. Of a still very medieval design, this grid presents an assembly of embedded and retracted bars entirely riveted on an oval plate formerly embedded in the door. Intended at the time to decorate a door of private domain or religious community, this peephole allowed, due to its design emerging from the plan of the door, to offer an enlarged and possibly defensive exterior view. French work in very good original condition dating from the 16th century. NB/Sending possible to France via Colissimo followed: 30 euros
