Bronze table inkwell with medal patina resting on a circular saucer mounted on a base. The inkwell rests on three feet representing the heads and legs of fauns and is screwed onto the saucer's navel. The body, round and flattened, is decorated with stylized floral scrolls, while the neck is highlighted with a gadrooned corolla. The lid, mounted on a hinge, is bulbous in shape, decorated with a fishing net motif and topped with a grip representing the head of an ancient Byzantine bearded man. The side handle, also screwed, is openwork and represents a stem repeating the same ornamentation as the lid. The glass container is original. France, 19th century, manufactured by Barbedienne, signed. Diameter: 15 cm (saucer) Height: 13 cm Weight: 829 g Condition: Good condition, without shocks or deformations. The glass container is chipped at the top. There are signs of use.
