"Pair Of Marble Vase-sculptures Signed A. Mancel - 1869"
Pair of small carved white marble vases depicting children in a rural scene. On one, a young boy rests against a tree trunk, accompanied by his dog. On the other, three seated children embody the tranquility of village childhood. The top of each trunk is hollowed out to form a vase. Each piece is signed A. Mancel and dated 1869. Refined 19th-century work, imbued with poetry and naturalism. Marble patinated by time, very good overall condition.
